Force of Will – New Frontiers Thursday


Join us every Thursday for our weekly New Frontiers format Force of Will tournament, a great way to have some fun and meet other Force of Will players. The tournament is open to players of all skill levels, so feel free to come and play regardless of your experience and have fun!



Entry


Entry is $6 and includes a pack of your choosing, as well as a special promotional card. Additional prizing is available based on tournament turnout and player standings (more details below).



Format


New Frontiers: Cards from the last 2 Clusters (sets listed below) can be used.


The two clusters are as follows:


New Valhalla Cluster:

  • New Valhalla Entry Set – Fire

Prizing and tournament structure


Every 2 players who join the tournament add 1 pack to the total prize pool. The tournament will use the following structure:

  • 4-8 Players: 3 Rounds of Swiss, prizing based on standings after round 3 (No cut to elimination)
  • 9-16 Players: 4 Rounds of Swiss, cut to top 4 players elimination (Prizing awarded afterword)
  • 17-32 Players: 5 Rounds of Swiss, cut to top 4 players elimination (Prizing awarded afterword)
  • 33-64 Players: 6 Rounds of Swiss, cut to top 8 players elimination (Prizing awarded afterword)


A swiss round means that players are not eliminated regardless of how many losses occur. Elimination means the player is dropped from the tournament after a loss.

The 2020 season Standard format currently consists of the following expansions:

  • Black Star Promo cards numbered SM94 and up
  • Dragon Majesty
  • Pokémon TCG: Detective Pikachu

With the exception of basic Energy cards and previously printed cards that appear in Standard-legal expansions, players may not use cards from Pokémon TCG expansions prior to Sun & Moon. Players using previously printed cards that appear in Standard-legal expansions may play those cards as long as the effect described is functionally identical to that of the most recent printing of the card.

Format

Neo-Standard: Decks played in this format must be constructed from cards from only a single Series.

Example: A Madoka deck may play cards from Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion- and Puella Magi Madoka Magica but not from Disgaea or any other series.
