Gamer's Lair is hosting a monthly Pokémon Go Challenge. This event will be a swiss tournament, meaning no eliminations. All participants will be able to play in each round until the end.

Pokémon Go Challenges are run in Great League format (1500cp limit), with trainers competing in best-of-3 rounds. Trainers register a team of 6 Pokémon at the start of the tournament, and may only use those Pokémon during the event. No changes may be made to the 6 Pokémon's moves, form, or CP, during the tournament.

Each round of the tournament consists of up to 3 battles. Once a player has won 2-out-of-3 battles, they are considered the victor of the round.

Before each battle in a round, both trainers must show their opponent which 6 Pokémon are on their team. Only the CP and species must be shared. Moves may remain private knowledge. After previewing each other's teams, each player then privately selects 3 Pokémon to use, and the battle begins.

Trainers only need their device (phone, tablet, etc) to play Pokémon Go on, and a Pokémon Trainer Club account Player ID. Player IDs can be registered on-site for anyone without one. Top placing trainers will earn Championship Points, contributing towards a travel stipend to the North American International Championships. (Details on Pokémon's website, here.)
Additional notes on team registration:
- Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion is not allowed.
- No duplicate Pokémon species are allowed on one team. (This includes Raichu and Alolan Raichu, for example)
- Nicknames of any Pokémon registered to a team must be family friendly. If a nickname is deemed unacceptable by a judge, the player will be asked to change it before registration can be completed.

Due to Canadian regulations regarding online accounts, participants must be at least 13 years of age.
