Pokemon Sword & Shield: Lost Origin Pre-Release - September 3rd 2022

Come on down to celebrate the release of the newest Pokemon set Lost Origin!

Pokemon Pre-Release is a time where players can come together and have a chance to experience the latest sets a couple of weeks before their actual release!

How do Pre-Release tournaments work?

Players will be able to come in and play against other players using nothing but a Build And Battle Kit. These kits contain a small preconstructed deck, as well as 4 Booster Packs inside. Players are to open the Booster Packs and then use the contents of said packs to upgrade their preconstructed deck into a playable 40 card deck to compete in the event with. After the event starts players will have 30 minutes to open their packs and build their decks, after which the tournament will begin.

Tournament Structure:

The tournament will be using Swiss Rounds, the number of rounds will be determined by the number of players in attendence as follows:

4-8 Players: 3 Rounds of Swiss

9-16 Players: 4 Rounds of Swiss

17-32 Players: 5 Rounds of Swiss

Prizing:

Players will be able to earn extra booster packs depending on the number of rounds they win (receiving a minimum of 3 Booster Packs, even if no rounds are won)

In the event we only have a 3 round tournament, we will instead be handing out 1 booster pack for each win in addition to the 3 booster packs.
